45 Degree & Lovin' It!

I hear they cancel recess in Texas for this kind of weather but for a Des Moines winter these are our favorite days. At 45 degrees the snow was starting to melt making it perfect for snowballs and building a snowman. The girls had a blast and Scooter loved rolling around in the melting snow, basking in the sun. Tayler also made her and Aubree a throne to relax on. Of course, Dad couldn't resist throwing a snowball at her while she was trying to relax. Hopefully a few more days this winter will be this gorgeous! (I will have to give those Texans the benefit of the doubt. I can't stand being outdoors in Texas in August, but they act like its nothing!)

yeah, come this summer you won't want your pregger self any where NEAR TX. :) Looks like so much fun. We had had 55-60 weather here the last two days. So nice.

Wow! 55-60! The part I don't like is how messy it is. Impossible to keep a vehicle clean or take the dog out without having to give him a bath. I'll still take it over negative ten though!

good picture taking. You even got the snowball flying. That is hard to do.

chad must be losing his taste for the iowa cold. last night he informed us that it was supposed to be "really cold" this morning and that the kids will have to "bundle up". it's 38...and outside is NOT wear we will be!!!! i'd have watched your day-o-fun from your kitchen window, with a cup of hot cocoa though. and i bet all 3 of my kids would have been sittin right next to me enjoying those little marshmallos that go in hot cocoa while asking, very confused, "what on earth are they doing out in the freezing cold!?"

I'm sure your kids would have been out there with the girls if they had been locked inside all winter with little opportunity for fresh air. That's funny about Chad. The weather changed so quick here. Monday it got up to 53 degrees and then Tuesday the wind chill dropped all the way down to negative 23 degrees! It was brutal. The wind was blowing so hard try as I might I couldn't get my car door shut without standing up and using both hands!
